DAY 3:Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Ngorongoro Crater Lodge

Enjoy a game drive in this volcanic caldera, which many claim to be the most picturesque setting in all of Africa. Ngorongoro is a microcosm of Africa, replete with big game, including the beleaguered black rhino. It is also home to the majestic Maasai tribe who, in their colorful dress, can be seen tending their herds throughout the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is inspired by ancient African architecture and consists of three intimate villages all a fusion of earth and baroque luxury integrated into the dramatic rim of the crater. A spectacular view greets guests for the duration of their stay from every vantage point. The crater’s floor is a short thirty-minute drive down the side of the crater.

DAY 4: Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Ngorongoro Crater Lodge

Throughout the crater, an amazing assortment of wildlife may be sighted. Hyenas meander next to the road with their signature smiling faces while hippos wallow in rainwater pools next to the crater’s salt water lake, Lake Makat.

DAY 5:Serengeti National Park - Grumeti River Camp, Kirawira Camp, Migration Camp or Klein’s Camp

This morning, depart from Ngorongoro via a scheduled charter flight and continue on safari to the great plains of the Serengeti. The Serengeti is Tanzania’s largest and most famous park, and it has the largest concentration of migratory wildlife in the world. Stay at one of four properties, dependent on the location of the migration’s herds.

DAY 6:Serengeti National Park - Grumeti River Camp, Kirawira Camp, Migration Camp or Klein’s Camp

From March to May or June, the migration will be concentrated in the Western Corridor of the Serengeti. Accommodations at Grumeti River Camp and Kirawira Camp will provide travelers with the best location for experiencing the migration of herds of wildebeest and zebra as the move in search of greener grasses.

Grumeti River Camp is an upscale property that is small, ensuring a high level of service in an uncrowded environment. At Grumeti River Camp, hippos greet visitors through the watery carpet of lilies, and the spectacular coats of Colobus monkeys flash through the bird-filled trees.

Perched high on a ridge, with commanding views over the endless plains of the western Serengeti, Kirawira Camp is the epitome of colonially-styled safari luxury. Designed in Edwardian style, it features an elegant central meeting tent evocatively furnished with jewel-hued Persian rugs, antique escritoires, wind-up phonograms, leather-bound traveling cases, brass shooting sticks, carved rocking chairs, and stud-backed smoking chairs.

DAY 7: Serengeti National Park - Grumeti River Camp, Kirawira Camp, Migration Camp or Klein’s Camp

During the months when the migration moves to the north stay at Klein’s Camp. Klein's Camp is located deep in the heart of Maasai territory in the buffalo-rich northeastern Serengeti in Tanzania. A private concession is set aside for the exclusive use of Klein's Camp's sixteen guests. With no other vehicles for miles around, this is the ultimate private Africa safari.

DAY 8:Serengeti National Park - Grumeti River Camp, Kirawira Camp, Migration Camp or Klein’s Camp

July and November are the best times to visit the amazing Migration Camp which is located on the banks of the Grumeti River. The camp is raised on the side of an impressive kopje (hill) known as ’Poacher’s Lookout’ with broad views north over the undulating Serengeti hills and beyond to the plains of the Masai Mara. Migration Camp is a traditional tented safari camp but with elements of a more modern design. A swimming pool is available for refreshing midday plunges.
